After days and weeks of rumors floating around in B-town, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has confirmed her wedding plans.
The families of Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and her boyfriend Anand Ahuja have confirmed that the two are getting married on May 8.
A joint statement released by the two families read: The Kapoor and Ahuja families take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”

According to reports, preparations for the Sangeet ceremony have already begun at Anil Kapoor’s residence.
Last week, those passing by Sonam’s home could not have failed to notice the decked up Kapoor residence, decorated with festive lights. Paparazzi also caught on camera celebrities like Farah Khan, Karan Johar and Masaba Gupta dropping by Anil Kapoor’s home on Friday night. Farah Khan is reportedly in charge of choreographing Sonam’s sangeet while Karan is reportedly organizing the sangeet.

According to reports, the mehendi ceremony will be held at Sonam’s aunt’s luxurious residence in Bandra on May 7 and all, from Karan Johar to Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen grooving at the do.

Sonam’s parents — Anil and Sunita — along with her cousins, will all dance to specially choreographed songs. Sonam too is expected to perform while her family will dance to hit songs from her films such as Veere Di Wedding and Khoobsurat.
It was earlier said that the 32-year-old actor is going to tie the knot at a relative’s heritage bungalow in Bandstand, Mumbai. It was also said that the reception will take place at a five-star hotel owned by her close friend.
However, Sonam said that she would ‘rather give the money away’ than spending it on lavish weddings. She also said that the idea of marriage is ‘more appealing’ to her than the wedding itself.
She said, “I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. I think it’s important to do all the rituals, but I don’t believe in spending all that money, I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I’m not okay with that at all.”
Anand Ahuja is a Delhi-based businessman. His family is in the apparel manufacturing business. He owns a brand called Bhane.
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor will soon be seen in her home production, Veerey Di Wedding. The film, which also has Kareena Kapoor Khan in an important role, will hit the screens on June 1, 2018. Sonam will also walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14 and May 15.
