Radio Mirchi executive Tania Khanna(28) who was on her Hyundai Verna car met with an accident and died soon on wednesday morning. Her car fell in to an eight feet wide drain while trying to manouever around a curve, near sector 85 roundabout at 1 30 am.

The area was poorly lit with just one street light and the drain was wide enough to cause a tragedy. The car fell in to the drain with the front bumper hiting the drain. The windscreen broke and the car began to be filled with water. As water entered the car Tania tried to move in to back seat and escape but the car was autolocked. The autopsy report clearly mentioned the cause of her death as drowning.
The police officer who investigated about the incident said that Tania was following her friends car from Noida’s Attamarket. Around the time when they approached the sector 85 roundabout, her friend moved on in the right path and somehow Tania missed the road,drove in to a footpath and fell in to the drain. The friend who was driving in front went some distance and having not found Tania’s car drove back to see the accident and people gathered around it.
Tania’s younger brother said that the negligence of civic officials is what led to her sisters death. He said they are shattered by the incident and pointed out the fact that there are no adequate facilities like CCTV or street lights offered in there. Tania was immediately adimtted to the Yatharth hospital where she was declared brought dead. Radio mirchi said that Tania was one of their most ambitious and loved colleague.
