A Kerala police officer has been booked by the Ernakulam central police for allegedly sexually abusing a minor in Kochi.

The girl alleged that the officer had grabbed her wrist without her permission when she was in the lift of a building.
The officer has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) on the basis of a complaint by the girl’s parents, the police said.
The police said that the accused officer is a relative of the girl. A preliminary investigation is launched in the incident, they said, adding no arrest has been made so far.
