Did Meera Nandan quit films? where is she now?

Meera Nandan is currently on a break from movies and is busy with her RJ career. While most of her contemporaries are busy with their wedding plans, Meera has no plans to marry.

In a recent interview, the actress shocked her fans and well-wishers, stating that she is not interested in marriage. Meera says that she has fallen in love with singlehood.

Meera feels that marriage is not a necessity for her, at this point in time. The actress has no plans to be busy with her film career and is planning to only choose the projects which she is comfortable with.

The actress was earlier supposed to make a comeback, with the upcoming Mammootty starrer White. But Meera couldn’t take up the offer, as she was busy with her assignment with Red FM, Dubai.

Meera has been staying away from movies since last two years; stating that she is tired of playing similar roles. She has resumed her higher studies in Mass Communication and Journalism, at Manipal University.

The last time we saw the actress was in Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu. Now she has switched roles. Talking about her new role as RJ, Meera says, “I want to get used to my new career as an RJ. For this reason, I have decided to take a break from films. When I arrived in Dubai, I found this place to be very different and it did take me some time to adapt to the new environment.”

The multi-faceted actress says that she is thoroughly enjoying her stint as RJ in one of the prominent radio stations in Dubai. “This is what I always wanted to try and I am really enjoying it. It’s clear it is not like any other job. However, once you get used to being an RJ, you can enjoy a stress-free work life. The radio industry in Dubai is competitive and large.

The tough part of being an RJ is that people should be really careful about what they speak. Initially, I was very tense but my colleagues were very supportive. After I started getting positive responses, I felt encouraged and I am now happy about my decision to become an RJ.”

She says that her initial days in Dubai were really tough. “I was a girl who was totally dependent on her parents. I had then decided to take the plunge and move to Dubai to live on my own. I understood the difficulties and the responsibilities of living independently. It is totally cool. Of course, I miss my home.”

Ask her if it is possible to work on two professions simultaneously. “I am sure I can manage that. It was while I was working as RJ that I finished the shooting of my Tamil film Sandamarutham.”
