When was the last time you heard about Mitsubishi launching a car in India ? Its been a while, isn’t it ? The last car released by them was almost six years ago and that was the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. It may not have generated enough numbers to put a smile on the makers face, but it was a much loved SUV. Now with the Outlander, what is intersting is that Mitsubishi is only launching a petrol version of the car ! So a petrol SUV placed in 25 – 30 lakhs category ? Who is its main rival then ?As far as we can see, it is only the Honda CR-V that might go directly against Outlander. But CR-V is yet to be launched, so at this point at least, Outlander is slightly ahead of the game.

The petrol engine will be the 2.4 litre four cylinder unit that makes 167 Bhp. The engine is mated to a six speed CVT with paddle shifters and all wheel drive. Also you wont have meddle with the variants and features it offers because there is only one variant. Outlander is packing every feature in to their car and not offering different variants with a few features denied. One engine and one variant ! Mitssubishi is really making it easy to choose.

But does it have enough features in the only variant that is offered ? It gets things you would expect at this prize point. Keyles go, 6.1 touch screen(looks slightly after market) dual zone climate control, automatic headlamps and wipers and a 710 watt Rockford Fosgate sound system are some of them. Safey has not ben compromised with 6 airbags with active stability control and hill assist.

Bookings are open now and the deliveries are expected by mid June.
