UPSC exams are quite a tough nut to crack. Because of the high standards set by the exam, the top marks doesn’t go off the charts as you would see in some of the other exams. So How much did Durishetty Anudeep, the first rank holder of Civil Service Exams scored ? He managed to secure 55.60 percent, once again revealing the standard of the exam.

As per Union Public SErvicec Commission, Durishetty secured 1126 marks in total out of 2025. He got 950 in the written test out of a a total of 1750 and added 176( out of 275) to the tally in interview. The second ranked Anu Kumari came so close and got 55.50 percent , that is 1124 marks. Sachin Gupta, the third rank holder too missed the higher rank only by a decimal, standing at 55.40 percent.
A total of 990 candidates have been recommended by the commission for appointment to central government services. The exam was conducted on June 18, 2017 and among the 456,625 candidates who actually took the exam 13,366 candidates qualified for mains exam. Only 2568 candidates had qualified for mains and got the nod for interview.
Earlier Durishetty had said that he was helped in his coaching by Google and YouTube. He said they are the best teachers and one need not invest a lot of money in to coaching centres to study for civil service. He also preferred to serve Telangana, his native place.
