J&K : Tourist dies in Srinagar stone pelting
A tourist from Tamil Nadu, injured during clashes between protesters and security forces in Kashmir has died.
R Thirumani (22), resident of Chennai, suffered head injuries after being hit by a stone during clashes in Narbal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital this morning, a police official said.

Thirumani was reportedly travelling in a bus that came under attack on Srinagar-Gulmarg road.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who represents the Beerwah constituency where Narbal is located, expressed his condolences, and added that he was “deeply sorry that this happened at all.”
This young man from Chennai died in my constituency & while I don’t support these goons, their methods or their ideology I’m deeply, deeply sorry that this happened at all & that too in an area I’ve been proud to represent since 2014.
