Igatpuri hill station is on the busy Mumbai -Agra NH 3, 45 kilometres from Nasik and 130 Kilometres from Mumbai. The place is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in Sahyadri. Most of these provides plenty of opportunities for trekking lovers. Add to that the fact that a lot of Hindi songs are shot here and you have a basic idea about the beauty and climate of this place.No wonder it is one of the most sought after hill station destination for a lot of people here.

If you wanna come by air, Mumbai airport is the nearest airport to Igatpuri. Igatpuri has a railway station of its own so boarding a train isn’t a bad idea. If you wanna come by road, travellers can get down at Kasara and take a bus or hire a taxi.
The place Igatpuri is also famous for its Vipassan Internationaal Academy, where an ancient technique of meditation “Vipassana ” is taught. When you look at the calmness and serenity of the place you feel there cannot be a more ideal location to teach meditation art. This place has a setting that automatically puts you in to a meditative mode. There are waterfalls, lakes, lush green trees and some shrines in the place.
Some of the important places you can visit here are Bhatsa RIver Valley, Arthur Lake, Kalsubai Peak etc. The famous Amruteshwar temple is located here too. The Arthur lake is formed by waters of Pravara river in tthe Bhandardara region while Bhatsa river valley is one of the most picturesque spot in this place. Kalsubai Peak, at 35 kilometres is the highest peak in the region.
