Today is the D-day in Karnataka, and the polling has begun in the booths of the 222 constituencies.
Today’s political battle is a 3 cornered one, with the Congress trying to retain its power in the state, while the JD(S) is trying to make a comeback and the BJP to mark its entry into South India.

It is also interesting to note that all main candidates have been the Chief Minister at some point in time in their political career.
BJP candidate BS Yeddyurappa has come to cast his vote in Shimoga. He is confident that his party will get a minimum of 150 seats. He has stated that he is going to form the next government.
