Sitaram Yechury compares PM Narendra Modi with ‘Duryodhan’, RSS with ‘Sakuni’
CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury took a dig at PM Narendra Modi over his penchant for invoking mythology and likened the BJP to the ‘kauravs’ of Mahabhatra with the RSS controlling everything just as ‘sakuni’ did in the epic.
“We know Kauravas had 100 brothers. But how many of them are being remembered by us except Duryodhan and Dushashan? Similarly, people do not know the other names of the BJP except Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. The Kaurav dynasty was destroyed due to their bad policy and infighting. BJP is also taking the country towards destruction,” said the Left leader.
He further compared RSS’s with Shakuni of the Mahabharata. “In which way the Shakuni was taking the Kauravas towards devastation, the RSS is doing the same with the country. We have to understand this and stop this destruction,” he added.
Yechury said the country has witnessed several incidents like Unnao rape case, Dadri mob lynching, Surat rape and murder case and several other communal tensions. These cases have reflected the mindset of the ruling party, he added.

“The BJP and RSS have started creating conflicts between brothers and communities. The constitutional bodies are being attacked nowadays. A sense of fear has been created in the minds of people. If it continues like this, our country will meet the fate of Kauravas. We have to protect and strengthen our secular democratic country,” he added.
