The convict of the Edappal child abuse case, kankunnathu Moydheenkutty(60) had approached CPM leaders to getting himself absolved of the case. The police didn’t take the case seriously on the first filling of complaint but only shot into action when the incident went viral through media. Recent reports suggest that there was laxity on the part of the police. The Kerala Women’s Commission chairperson M.C.Josephine too has come strongly against the police.
Moydheenkutty, it appears from the media reports that, has been a habitual child abuser. The convict is a jeweller based in Dubai and he has shops in Shornur too. The mother and her daughters were tenants in his apartment. The lady has also got two other daughters studying in plus 2 and degree classes.
