There is a talk in America that Space X is actually better than NASA. Whether you agree with it or not, atleast in rocket technology they are a notch above NASA. NASA’s rocket launching technology is more expensive and less effective than Space X, as the latter has developed rockets with even 70 percent of reusability. Now Space X is going to get a challenge from an unexpected corner. India !

ISRO is famed for for building space projects in a cost effective manner as modi puts it “mangalyaan costed less than Gravity the movie. “Earlier this year, ISRO chairman K Sivan had hinted that ISRO is working on reusable technology to reduce launching costs.if it is developed it can throw a challenge to Space X s reusable launch vehicle Falcon 9 rocket. As we speak though, we are no where close to challenging Elon Musk’s tech giant.
The huge gap in the budget available for both organisations will be a hurdle for ISRO as they move forward. ISRO has an annual budget of $1.2 billion against Space Xs $1.9 billion. Just yesterday it was Space X that launched Bangladesh’s first satellite despite India being a friendly and close neighbour. India is ahead of SpaceX in terms of making satellites though. But we can hope for more advancements in Indian Rocket technology soon.
In a video message for the annual National Conference on Emerging Trends in Aerospace Technologies (ASET-2018) on future of propulsion at Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) Valiyamala in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala, ISRO chairman said, “The latest in propulsion including electric, hybrid, cryogenic and nuclear power propulsion system is being developed indigenously at LPSC”. The attempt is to control the engine thrust to explore all landing modes including vertical and soft landing of launch vehicles, so that it can be reused”.
If ISRO sets its mind on something We can gurantee that it will go ahead and somehow finish the job.
