There are so many Indian celebrities who have lost their lives in accidents. Here’s a list of some celebrities whose death shook us:

1.Arjit Lavania

 

TV actor Arjit Lavania, who was seen as Nandi in Colors TV show “Mahakali: Ant Hi Aarambh Hai”, got killed in a road accident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway .

 

2. Gagan Kang

TV actor Gagan Kang, who was also with Arjit Lavania when the accident occur on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway . Gagan was seen as Lord Indra in Colors TV show “Mahakali: Ant Hi Aarambh Hai”. The actors were heading to Mumbai after shooting in Umergaon. Their car, reportedly, crashed into a container on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway near Palghar Manor town. Along with the actors, Gagan’s assistant was also present in the car. The three are said to have died on the spot.

3. Sonika Chauhan

Model-actress Sonika Chauhan passed away in a horrible road accident when she was travelling in with friend, actor Vikram Chatterjee. Accident took place in front of Lake Mall in Kolkata. According to sources, Vikram himself was driving a white Toyota (WB12C9755) when he lost control at Rashbehari avenue. The car crashed into the divider on the road and turned topsy-turvy. Both of them were rushed to hospital but by the time they reached, model was no more. Doctors declared that she died on the spot.

Sonika was a popular face in the modeling industry and was also an anchor in ‘Pro Kabbadi League’. Apart from sports anchoring, Sonika was also a VJ on channel V.

4. Rekha Sindhu

TV actoress Rekha Sindhu was killed in a car accident on Friday, 5 May 2017 at the busy Chennai-Bengaluru Highway. The popular actress, who was going to Bengaluru, was accompanied by three other people – Abhishek Kumaran (22), Jayankandran (23) and Rakshan (20) and reports say that all of them were killed in the car crash.

Rekha Sindhu, worked as a model (in addition to TV) and was a resident of the Banaswadi locality in Bengaluru. She was also seen in several advertisements. She was known for her work in Tamil and Kannada TV shows.

5. Bhupathi Bharath Raj

Tollywood actor Ravi Teja’s brother, Bhupathi Bharath Raj (49), himself an actor, died after the car he was travelling collided with a lorry in Shamshabad area in Hyderabad June. The front portion of the car was completely damaged due to the impact of the collision. The police took some time to identify the body after extricating it, since the face and the body got deformed in the impact of the crash.

While Bharat has appeared in numerous Telugu films including Aa Mugguru and Jump Jilani, his brother Ravi Teja is the more famous star. He has appeared in several hit films like Kick 2 and Bengal Tiger.

6. Jaspal Bhatti

Indian actor-comedian, Jaspal Bhatti, lost his life at the age of 57. Bhatti died in a car accident near Shahkot in Jalandhar district on 25 October 2012. Along with his son Jasraj who was on the wheel, and two others were going to Jalandhar from Bathinda for the promotion of his new film ‘Power Cut’ when the car hit a tree on the roadside. Bhatti was sitting in the rear seat of the car and received serious head injuries. Bhatti’s son Jasraj and few members were also badly hurt.

His low-budget “Flop Show” TV series in the early 1990s is remembered even today.

7. Yasho Sagar

Yasho Sagar, best known for his role in Ullasamga Utsahamga with Sneha Ullal a big hit of 2008, lost his life in a road accident near Tumkur along with 2 friends on 25 December 2012. He was in his mid 20s. Besides Sagar, his assistant Vishvanath Reddy was also killed and another person injured in the accident. In his short career, Yasho did the lead role in “Ayyo Pavam”, a Malayalam remake of “Ullasanga Utsahanga”.

8. Anand Abhyankar

 

Anand Abhyankar, an Indian Marathi film, television and theatre actor starred in films such as ‘Vaastav’ and ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain’. Abhyankar and his colleague Akshay Pendse died in a car accident on Mumbai-Pune Express Highway on 23 December 2012. The actors were travelling in a Wagon R when they were hit by an out-of-control tempo. The actors were returning from the shoot of a show in which they played father and son. Anand was 48, while Akshay was 35.
