Hindu-Muslim groups unite together and couples from both communities tie knot with each other

After a Muslim father prints Hindu Gods on his daughter’s wedding pictures, the 2 communities come together once again, spreading communal harmony.

At least 11 couple tied the knot on Sunday in a mass marriage ceremony organised by a Muslim organisation in Gujarat’s Vadodara.

Out of the eleven couple, eight were Muslim and the remaining three belonged to Hindu religion.

This was conducted by a Muslim organization which used to conduct marriages of couples belonging to lower-income groups.

Spreading a message of diversity, all the couple’s exchanged the vows under the same roof. The family and relatives of all the couples were also present at the wedding venue to bless them on the day.

An organizer of the event said that earlier they used to organize mass marriage only for the Muslim community, but later they included the Hindu couples too.

“We used to organise mass marriage only for Muslim couples. In 2016, it was suggested to include Hindu couples with poor economic conditions, to set an example of Hindu-Muslim unity,” he said.

All the weddings were solemnized as per the rituals followed by the couples.

A Hindu couple, whose wedding was hosted by the Muslim organisation recently, said that the group helped them in their marriage. “We are too poor to have a normal wedding. The organisation took care of the expenditure of our marriage. We are thankful to them. It is nice to get married with 10 other couples belonging to different religions. The wedding venue was a perfect example of Hindu-Muslim unity,” said the groom.
