It was another do-or-die situation for Mumbai Indians (MI) when they played against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the latter’s fortress — Eden Gardens. The Mumbai Paltan began the match with a bang as the batsmen provided a fiery start. Later, Ishan Kishan hit the second-fastest century of the season and with a few other swashbuckling knocks, MI posted their biggest total of the tournament on the board — 210/6.
With the ball, MI looked confident again as they simply pounded the KKR batting line-up, starting with the wicket of Sunil Narine in the very first over. All this while, there was someone in the stands who kept on praying for the home team.

And if you are thinking that person would have been the renowned ‘prayer-aunty’ then you are mistaken. This time the one who was praying was the team’s owner, Nita Ambani.

Well, Mrs. Ambani’s prayers seemed to have worked as MI bowlers did a fantastic job and bundled up the Knights on 108 with 11 balls to spare. Young wicketkeeper-batsman and former India U-19 skipper Ishan Kishan bagged the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his outstanding batting (62 runs off 21 balls).
