Ramzan fasting can be quite difficult, especially if you are experiencing summer in your country. The climate will leave you parched and you might feel an increased appetite. A lot of care is taken to make sure people don’t lose weight during Ramadan, but a few people actually end up gaining weight after Ramadan. How does that happen ?
Fasting is good for renewing your spirit and charge you mentally, but it might not be helpful in reducing your waistline. Some Muslims even stay up till 4 am to eat a last meal before sunrise. Such disrupted routine, inactivity and out-of-order sleep can endanger health at times. Some devotees tend to overeat upon breaking fast that involves heavy, fatty foods rich in calories.
The fact is intermittent fasting is not a great way to lose your weight. In a way we are only ensuring that throughout the day our body is fuelled by fat stored rather than dietary carbs or liver glycogen. On the flip side you can gain weight on intermittent fasting if you consume more calories while you eat, more than what you can burn in the day.
Here are some things you can do to avoid gaining weight during Ramadan Fasting.
Avoid Overeating. A light and balanced Iftar will keep your health in a better shape.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water in non fasting hours
Eat Low fat diary products
Replace Arabic fruits with fresh fruits having high water content.
Wish you a happy and healthy Ramadan 2018.
