Congress and JD(S) MLAs are staging a protest in front of the Vidhan Soudha against the swearing in of Yeddyurappa which they call a murder of democracy. There are also unconfirmed reports that two of the Congress MLAs are missing from the team and one of them could be Anand Singh. There were already some talks about Anand Singh switching teams and joining BJP.

Earlier Rahul Gandhi, just before the swearing in ceremony of Yeddyurappa had tweeted that India will mourn the defeat of democracy while BJP celebrates it’s hollow victory.
Yeddyurappa took oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka ar Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru as Supreme Court did not stay the swearing in , saying it cannot interfere with the decision taken by the governor.
