iPad has been one of the cheaper devices from Apple. But Microsoft has always tried a premium approach with its tablets and has had success. It looks like that is about to change.

According to reports, Microsoft is going to release a $400 (about 27000 rs)version of the Surface to compete with iPad. It will be about 5000 rs costlier than the cheapest ipad though. If the project happens, it won’t be the first time Microsoft has attempted it, but did not achieve success before. Microsoft’s recent success in making premium -thin hardware might just work in favour of their new product. It was about five years ago that they launched Surface RT, but it failed to make an impact.
The new device will probably house a 10 inch screen ,a USB type c port, will not come bundled with a keyboard and that is all we know about it at this point. It is expected to have a few hours lesser battery life than its expensive sibling ‘Surface Pro’. Intel Corp is expected to provide the Graphics Chip n Main processor. Microsoft 10 S has been a success story and a slightly tweaked version of the OS might make it’s way in to Surface tablet..
