From Malabar with love, “Avil Milk”

Commonly called “Avil Milk”, this delicacy made from beaten rice and milk is not only famous in the Malabar area but also across Kerala. The crunchy taste with the goodness of beaten rice and milk deliver it a good name among the health conscious. So this Ramadan, to break the fast, try ‘Malabar Special Avil Milk’

Ingredients
1.Beaten Rice(Avil)-4 tablespoons
2.Mysore banana – 1
3.Sugar-2 tbsp
4.Ghee-1/4 teaspoon
5.raisins- 10 numbers
6.Cherry-4 nos.
7.cashewnut-3 numbers
8.milk-1 cup

How to make?

After boiling the milk, keep it to cool for sometime. After the heat is subsided, keep the milk in the refrigerator. While the milk gets cooled, heat the ghee and roast the beaten rice in it. Take a big class, put the banana inside it and crush it completely. Then add sugar to it and mix neatly.

Now to this mixture pour half of the cooled milk, then spread some roasted beaten rice over it. Then pour the rest of the milk, spread roasted beaten rice over it, then put over it cashew nuts and raisins. Cherry and ice cream may be added if you wish. The nutritious and tasty ‘Avil Milk’ is ready to get served. Happy Ramadan.
