Shortly after the centre took announced their ceasefire decision in J&K owing to the holy month of Ramadan, Pakistan made their stand clear by the unabashed attack on the Indian Army and the civilians. In the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, 1 B.S.F. jawan and 4 civilians were killed by PAK shelling.

Seetharam Upadhyay(28), part of the 192 Battalion of BSF, is the jawan who attained heroic martyrdom.He was shot near the Jabowal Post. He succumbed to his injuries on his way to the near by hospital. A 45 year old woman, three other men were the civilians who died by the shelling.T en other people were injured icluding a BSF Inspector.
Pakistan started unprovoked shelling and firing by 1:00AM at the R.S.Pura, Arnia, Bishna provinces near Jammu and Kashmir international border. As the attack occured, Indian Army retaliated at the 3 sectors.
This is the third shell attack consicecutively in three days by Pakistan after the ceasefire declaration of Indian Government. On Wednesday and Thursday Pakistan broke ceasefire in Kathua and Samba districts too.
The police are evacuating people in bulletproof vehicles to secure areas.
Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed her pain and anxiety at the ongoing firing in the border areas. In her tweet she said
inspite of taking steps to avoid friring and to spread peace, Pakistan disrespected the holy month of Ramadan.
