BJP president Amit Shah said that his party had emerged as the single largest party in Karnataka, but Congress and JD(S) formed an “unholy alliance” to overthrow the will of people. Speaking on a press conference, the astute leader said “Congress crossed all limits in Karnataka elections. JD(S) formed an alliance with Congress against peoples mandate. This is an unholy alliance”.

Talking about the reason why then went ahead to make the government, he said “If we had not staked claim to form government, it would have been against the mandate of Karnataka’s people “. He asked what reasons Congress had to celebrate the result when their numbers have gone down. “What are they celebrating for? Congress was reduced from 122 to 78 seats, most of their ministers lost their seats, even Siddaramaiah lost from one constituency and won by a narrow margin in the other. Similarly, why is JD(S) celebrating? For getting 37 seats”?, asked Shah.
He took a jibe at the congress party saying that they have found a new way of celebrating defeat as victory and that he hoped this new definition of victory will continue till 2019 and that it will benefit BJP. Shah added that the Congress accused BJP of horse trading but the Congress bought an entire stable.
Amit shah also predicted that fractures will soon emerge in Congress JD(s) alliance.
