Adolf Hitler is not remembered for good reasons. His bone fragments, which was held by Russian Secret Service have been put under some tests and interesting facts have been revealed. The results were published this week in the European Journal of INternal Medicine.

Forensic Researchers set out their research by examining the skull of Hitler, which revealed a gunshot wound, that had exited the left side of the head around the time of death. More advanced study about Hitler’s dental bridge in the upper Jaw and three fragments of lower jaw also were carried out. The researcher Philippe Charlie’s said “At the moment of his death, Hitler had only four remaining teeth- all four mandibular(Lower jaw) incisors”.
The remaining portion of his teeth was made out of dental crowns, a bridge and a strange metallic bar. The plaque and decay on his teeth was examined using a scanning electron microscope.
The researchers used the scanning electron microscope to non-destructively examine Hitler’s dental plaque, a sticky substance that traps microscopic food particles. They found numerous plant-based food particles in the plaque, but “no muscular segment compatible with meat was identified after careful examination of the whole surfaces and sections.” The analysis is therefore compatible with Hitler’s known vegetarianism.
The bone fragment have not been confirmed by DNA analysis as being a match for Hitler, but the head wound and poor dental records match what is known of him.
