Badaam Ka Sherbet recipe for this Ramadan

Badam aka Almonds are rich in healthy fats, fiber, protein, magnesium and Vitamin E.This nourishing and energy drink will provide you with energy to keep you active until Iftar. Enjoy Badam Sherbet with the savory flavor of cardamoms and Kewda. Enjoy the good and healthy food always.

Ingredients
1.Almonds(Badam) – soaked overnight and peeled – 120gm
2.Green Cardamoms-crushed, cooked in water and strained- 8 nos.
3.Sugar- 3 cups
4.water-2 cups
5.Kewda essence -1 tsp
6. Pottasium Meta bi Sulphite(Pottasium Salt of bisulfate anion)-1/8 tsp

 

How to make

Add water to the almonds and blend it to a fine paste. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or muslin cloth and then add some more water to the leftover almonds and blend and then strain again.make the liquid enough to fill 2 cups, add water if necessary. Add sugar to the strained almond liquid and dissolve over low heat. When it dissolves, increase the heat and bring to a boil and let the syrup cook. Keep skimming off the scum as it cooks. Cook till a drop of syrup pressed between two fingers, forms a thread (one-thread consistency). Then add to it the cardamom extract and the kewda essence. Strain through a muslin cloth and cool. When cooled, mix the potassium in a little part of the syrup first, then add to the whole lot. Store it in clean airtight bottles.
