Kumaraswamy has passed a major hurdle in his endeavour to form a stable government in Karnataka. He had won the floor test with 117 MLAs voting in favour of Confidence motion moved by him.
BJP MLAs had earlier made a walk off from the assembly saying that the party will hold a state wide Bandh, if CM Kumaraswamy do not waive off the loans of farmers. Yeddyurappa in his brief stint as the Chief Minister of Karanataka had promised to do the same. Earlier Yeddyurappa said he was happy at the decision of Ramesh Kumar becoming the speaker and called him a ‘gentleman’. He added that his party withdrew the nomination of speaker candidate as he wanted the election on speaker to be unanimous to maintain the dignity of the post.

Kumaraswamy while speaking on the trust motion moved by him said that he got a call from Ghulam Nabi Azad on may 12 offering an alliance when the results clearly didn’t favour a single party.
Although it seems settled now, Kumaraswamy will know that he is far from a position of safety as several statements from leaders are already hinting at possible fissures developing in the coalition.
