Mood of the Nation poll : Narendra Modi continues to be the first choice of the voters for prime minister role ,See survey report
The CSDS-Lokniti Mood of the Nation poll today showed that the BJP is still the most favoured choice in most of the big states of the country.
The survey conducted on the eve of the completion of four years of the Narendra Modi government will definitely serve as a morale booster for the BJP and its alliance partners within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
NDA is likely to retain power at the Centre if the elections were held today. Narendra Modi continues to be the first choice of the voters for prime ministerial role.

The NDA is expected to win 274 of 543 Lok Sabha seats as per the prevailing mood of the voters in the country, the CSDS-Lokniti survey said. The NDA had won 323 seats in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Interestingly, the NDA is likely to gain more votes – improving from 36 per cent in 2014 to 37 per cent in 2018.
According to the Mood of the Nation polls, the NDA’s vote share in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujarat is well above its challenger, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), which has an upper hand in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh – the two states going to the polls later this year.
In Uttar Pradesh, NDA’s vote share is showing a dip from 43 per cent to 35 per cent but it is much better placed than the UPA which is likely to get 12 per cent vote in the state if elections were held today. UPA’s vote share in UP in 2014 was only 8 per cent.
Others’ vote share may be a worry for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. Others’ vote share shows improvement from 49 per cent to 53 per cent.
