INGREDIENTS

For Sardai mixture

  • 1 tbsp Poppy seeds/ cuscus (soaked)
  • 1 cup Almonds (soaked)
  • 5 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp whole black pepper
  • 1 tsp Green Cardamom
  • 4 tbsp dried melon seeds
  • ½ cup water

For Sardai

  • Sardai Mixture (Already Prepared)
  • 1 cup Ice cubes
  • 2 cup water
  • Crushed Almonds (as needed for topping)

METHOD

For Sardai Mixture

  • First of all, add poppy seeds, soaked almonds, in a clay pot & grind them well (you can use mortar & pestle for this purpose)
  • Then add sugar, whole black peppers, green cardamoms, dried melon seeds, & grind again
  • Add ½ cup water & mix well by adding water again. Sardai mixture is ready

For Sardai

  • Put the sardai mixture (which is already prepared), ice cubes, 2 cup water in a grinder then grind well
  • Take a muslin cloth & keep it in a bowl, then pour the grinded mixture (which we have prepared in previous step).
  • Pick up this cloth from the top and squeeze it until all the liquid mixture came out
  • Add this squeezed mixture into glass then complete topping with the help of crushed almonds
  • Your traditional sardai is ready to serve
