Bus collides with 3 vehicles , 11 killed,several injured
According to reports, the mishap occurred when the driver of a TSRTC’s airconditioned Rajdhani bus from Secunderabad to Mancheryal lost control over the wheel and hit a lorry from behind. Under the impact of the collision, the bus turned on its side resulting in the death of four passengers and injuries to 20 others. The condition of four of the injured is said to be critical.
The lorry jumped over the road divider and hit an SUV and container lorry coming in the opposite lane. The impact was so high that the SUV, which was caught between the two lorries, was reduced to a mangled metal. Seven occupants of the SUV died on the spot. Five of the deceased are the family members of a scribe, Lakshman, resident of Jinnaram village of Sangareddy district. The journalist’s family was returning home after a pilgrimage to Vemulawada.

The injured were first admitted to regional hospital in Gajwel and from there 15 victims were later shifted to Hyderabad. Senior police and revenue officials rushed to the spot and supervised rescue and relief operations. A crane was used to shift the damaged vehicles. Traffic on the busy Hyderabad-Karimnagar Rajiv Rahadaricame to a standstill for about two hours following the gory accident.
Chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed shock over the “terrible road accident” and instructed officials to provide better medical treatment to the injured. Chandrasekhar Rao conveyed his condolences to the members of bereaved families.
