Nobody asks India to control their assets, says Pervez Musharraf

Pakistan’s former dictator and President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf said that world countries reserve a different type of treatment for both India and Pakistan. He expressed his opinion while giving an interview to Voice of America. He said U S doesn’t waste any chance to ditch Pakistan when it doesn’t require Islamabad to align with it. He accused America of joining hands with India against his country. “Nobody asks India to control their assets. Pakistan became a nuclear state because India posed an undeniable existential threat,” he said.

He felt U S should have stopped India long time back as Pakistan have been always loyal to U.S. He added that during his tenure, the relationship between India and Pakistan was on the path of reconciliation. “At the time I spoke to both the prime ministers; Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh, they were both from different political parties but we wanted to move forward from the disputes. A four-point initiation of peace was strategised and was put in implementation by the leadership of both countries,”

He said at that time both countries wanted peace then and said the situation is not the same anymore. He accused Modi of trying to enforce supremacy in India.

Pervez Musharraf is in Dubai since last year as Pakistan has allowed him to leave for medical treatment. The former general is facing high treason charges.
