Uttar Pradesh crime branch on Sunday arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with the rape and cheating case registered by a 67-year-old veteran Bollywood actress.
The man, identified as Quari Gauhsulvara Hasmat Ali Ansari, an Arabic teacher, is the third accused arrested in the case which was filed after the actress approached the Juhu police in March this year. Ansari, a resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh had allegedly helped the businessman make fake papers to prove the complainant and the businessman were married.
The complainant had alleged that he had taken ?15.40 crore from her, including gold ornaments on the pretext of giving her four flats, between 2011 and 2015. On January 10 this year, the complainant had filed the first case of stalking against the businessman and he was arrested by the Juhu police and later released on bail.

The case was subsequently transferred to the unit 9 of the Mumbai crime branch for further investigation. The police found that the businessman made fake papers of their nikah (marriage certificate) with Ansari’s help.
The actress also alleged that the businessman threatened her with serious consequences if she spoke out about the fraud. The police raided the police businessman’s home as part of the probe and seized two Mercedes-Benz cars, including several documents and debit cards, including a marriage certificate.
