Neenu, wife of Kevin who was brutally murdered by a bunch of goons under the leadership of her brother, has been admitted to the hospital. Her body and mind hasn’t coped up with the reality of the demise of her husband. Kevin and Neenu was in love for quite sometime, a relation not approved by her parents. Kevin belonged to the ‘Cheramar’ caste of Hindu, hailing from a humble economic background while Neenu belonged to an affluent Christian family. Kevin later converted himself to a Christian which only infuriated her parents further. The caste and his economic background didn’t impress Neenu’s family, particularly her brother, who according to her is behind the death of her husband. The initial reports that comes out seems to agree with that version.

Neenu and Kevin was in love for three years. She was forced to elope with him as her parents had fixed her alliance with another person. Her parents had made a complaint to Gandhinagar Police station, but Neenu stood firm on her stand to live with Kevin. Kevin was worried about the safety of Neenu and he shifted her to a ladies hostel, while Kevin went with his relative Aneesh. It was from this house that Kevin and Aneesh was kidnapped.
The goons that launched the attack at 2 o clock in the morning on Saturday abducted both of them in different cars after demolishing their house. Aneesh was dropped on a spot near Pathanapuram when he finally agreed to convince Neenu to go back to her family. He rushed back to the police station to file a complaint including the number of the vehicle in which he was abducted, but Police kept his complaint on hold as they were busy with the works of offering security to Chief minister. Lack of timely action meant that the worst happened as Kevin’s dead body was found this morning.
The culprits who have been identified so far have all got DYFI connections and Sub inspector and Assistant Sub inspector who allegedly showed delay in acting have been suspended. The word that goes around now is that the police didn’t act on time as the goons involved had political connections with ruling party. There will be a huge public outcry in the days to come if government fails to nab the culprits.
