On account of baseless allegations against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Delhi High Court had ordered action against Kumar Vishvas who raised the allegations. He got himself out of the penal actions by writing an apology letter to the Finance Minister. The apology letter in which Kumar Vishvas had withdrawn all the allegations had been submitted to the HC on Monday and the details were released later.
Kumar Vishvas revealed in the letter that all the remarks he made against Arun Jaitley were on the basis of information provided to him by AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Vishvas alleged Kejriwal of showing some documents to him and claiming that those were related to the financial irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) that occurred during the stint of Jaitley as its President(2000-2013).

The letter said that when a leader took a stand after a public statement, the workers repeated his words and that they(the AAP workers) too without any questioning, had trusted their leader’s illogical words. Vishvas termed Arvind Kejriwal as a “liar” and “coward” in the letter. He confessed that he and his fellow partymen called Mr Jaitley, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, advocate Kapil Sibal and some social workers corrupt trusting the words of their party leader-Arvind Kejriwal. According to ‘The Indian Express’, Kumar Vishwas, a poet turned politician, wrote in the letter that Arvind Kejriwal was apologizing to Arun Jaitley to avoid a jail term and to save his CM chair from Manish Sisodia. He said that its the reason Delhi CM was apologizing and settling his civil and criminal cases.
Arvind Kejriwal’s apology had not been discussed with his colleagues and that was his own decision to say sorry to those who had lodged cases against him. The letter further says,” It is in his nature to leave the battleground and fall on the feet of his enemies, leaving others in the lurch”.
The letter published by The Indian Express said that he(Arvind Kejriwal) was a habitual liar and always indulged in such affairs to save his chair. Kumar Vishvas said in the letter that he was sorry for the damage caused to Jaitley due to him.
A joint application was filed by Kejriwal, Ashutosh, Deepak Bajpai, Sanjay Singh, and Raghav Chadha for the withdrawal of civil defamation suit lodged by Jaitley against them which was accepted by the court on April 3.
