Kanpur: On Wednesday, The Sanigwan village under the limits of Chakeri Police area of the district played host to a wedding between Ravi and Shanti, a couple who had been in love for so long. There is only one reason why this marriage finds itself in the news and it’s that Shanti was briefly married to a man called Sujit, who’s open-minded and unprejudiced nature and temperament is the reason why this marriage happened in the first place.

Sujit ,from Sanigwan married Shanti of Shyam Nagar on February 19. After living with her husband for about two weeks, Shanti went back to her home under some pretext. Sujit expected her to come back soon, but after her stay was extended unusually, Sujit was forced to ask the cause.
It was then that she broke down and revealed about her love affair with Ravi and that she was married to Sujit against her will. Sujit was disturbed by the revelation initially, but allayed her with a promise of reuniting her lost love. Sujit soon met Ravi, who also confessed his love. Having realised the depth of their love, Sujit took initiative to plan their marriage and he even apprised the local police about the plan.
“Initially, negative thoughts were coming to my mind and I even thought of eliminating both, but had I done this, the lives of three people, besides their families would have got badly affected. So after discussing with elderly members of the family and locality, I came with a conclusion so that all of us can live happily,” said Sujit.
“It was a sweet and lovely gesture from Sujit’s side, one will never forget him for long,” said the policemen at Sanigwan police out-post.
There are a lot to learn from Sujit. He deserves a lot of credit for not letting his ego come in the way of his judgement or being needlessly worried about “what people will say”
