Pakistan has decided to block the passport of former President Pervez Musharraf. This comes after a special court ordered the government to do so as he failed to appear before it in a treason case.
Besides the passport, the court has also ordered the government to block Musharraf’s National Identity Card (NIC).

Complying with the court’s order, the government has directed the interior ministry to take appropriate actions.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Immigration and Passport Directorate have been directed to execute the order.
The action is aimed at restricting the former president’s travel and limiting his financial transactions.
Once the documents are blocked, Musharraf will not be able to travel abroad, nor will he be able to avail banking facilities.
