The chances of the much awaited summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un has been swinging both ways for quite some time, but now an interesting confusion has come up. If you ever had an experience of that awkward moment in a restaurant of “who will actually pay the bill” , you can seek some solace from the fact that even the biggest of leaders in Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un have the same confusion. It’s about who will pay for all the expenses including the hotel bills. Trump or Kim?

Diplomats from both countries are striving now to make a meeting on June 12 possible and the seemingly mundane billing issue is one among the many logistical concerns being hammered out between the two teams led by White house deputy chief of staff Joe Hagin and Kim’s de facto chief of staff, Kim Chang-son. The fact that the meeting is supposed to take place in Singapore, means that this is actually an issue to be discussed. Had the meeting be held in US or North Korea, the host country would have paid.
The meeting is supposed to take place in a hotel called Fullerton, where a presidential suite for a night would need more that 6000 dollars ( approximately 4,01,963 rupees). Add to that the expenses of food and other needs.
America doesn’t have any problem in paying the bill but is worried if Pyongyang may view America’s initiative as an insult. U S planners are now considering asking the host country to pay for the North Korean delegation bill.
After all you don’t want to hurt the ego of Kim Jong Un.
