BJP leader Sambit Patra’s controversial tweet; Hafiz Saeed comparison

Yesterday, a BJP leader had compared the unified Opposition to that with the Mumbai 26/11 attack’s mastermind Hafiz Saeed.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra on Sunday tweeted a video of Hafiz Saeed, saying that like the Pakistan-based terrorist, the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ too is trying to stop Narendra Modi from becoming PM in 2019.

Mahagathbandhan means great alliance. Mahagathbandhan was a coalition of political parties in the Eastern state of Bihar in India, formed before the 2015 legislative elections in Bihar. Here it refers to the anti-BJP alliance formed after the recent Karnataka elections.

In the video, Hafiz Saeed is seen attacking Prime Minister Modi.

“We will not keep quiet. We will rip out your tongue,” Saeed said in the video.

Saeed further cites the construction of hydroelectric projects in Jammu and Kashmir and alleged that India is trying to stop the supply of water to Pakistan.

“If you stop the water, we will stop your breath,” he lashed out at the Prime Minister.

Citing Saeed’s video, Patra said that the anti-BJP alliance, which formally came into existence after JD(S) was able to form a government in Karnataka with a support from the Congress party, is “similarly” trying to prevent Narendra Modi from becoming the PM in 2019.

Sambit Patra later tweeted and said that he is not trying to compare the two, the anti-BJP alliance and Hafiz Saeed.
