One more Gulf country bans fruits, vegetables from Kerala
Saudi Arabia has temporarily banned frozen and processed fruits and vegetables from Kerala.
The decision taken by the Saudi Food and Drug Administration comes in view of the deadly Nipah Virus that killed 16 people in the Indian state.
“The ban was based on reports from the World Health Organization sparking concerns over the deadly Nipah virus in India,” Al Arabiya reported.

Earlier, the UAE also banned all fruits and vegetables imported from the state of Kerala following the Nipah virus outbreak.
So far there has been 18 positive cases of Nipah infection, of whom 16 people have died.
