Last month Trump issued a statement marking the start of Ramzan which said that Ramadan reminds them(Americans) of the richness Muslims add to the religious tapestry of American life.
Trump’s attitude towards the Muslims was reportedly inimical. After he became President last year, Trump called for a ban on immigrants from certain Mulsim countries including Syria and Iraq. He considered them as refugees and terrorists which received much condemnation worldwide. An executive order had been signed by him which banned Muslims from several countries such as Iran, Iraq and Syria from entering the US.
Celebrating and commemorating the first revelation of Quran to Prophet Muhammad, Muslims across the world have been observing fasting from pre-sunrise hours to the post-sunset hours since May 17. In this holy month, they are vowed to do good deeds and abstain from sinful deeds.
