Remember the infamous relationship between Salman Khan and Aiswarya Rai ? The gossip columns of the late 90s and early 2000s were a lot about this duo and it all started during their act together in the film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.
It was by 2001 that things started to take a bad turn for the couple. Eyewitness narrate that on November 2001 Salman reached Aishwaryas apartment and banged the door till 3 am. Some say he had made suicide threats too. About this incident, Salman later said that that Aishwarya Rai wasn’t returning his love and it was the reason why he was forced to turn violent.

“If you won’t fight, that means there is no love between you, I will not fight with an outsider; when we fight, it is all because of our love, Ash, clearly didn’t think so. ” said Salman.
The actual turning point that messed up their relation was Salman Khan’s visit to USA to meet his ex girlfriend, Somy Ali. He went without the knowledge of Aiswarya Rai and she was angry about the visit.
The actress later said “He would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected that I was having affairs with my co-stars. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks and I would go to work as if nothing happened ”. She also said that despite all what Salman had done to her, she always stood by him in difficult times.
About the physical abuse allegations, Salman later said “I have never beaten her. I get emotional and hurt myself. I have banged my head against the wall but I cannot hurt anyone else. “
