A 17-year-old girl of Uthamarkoil in Tiruchi, committed suicide on Wednesday night allegedly over her failure to qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical and dental courses.
Police said Subashree, daughter of Kannan, was found hanging in one of the rooms in her house late on Wednesday. She was rushed to a private hospital but was declared died on the way to the hospital.
Subashree was said to have been depressed over the past two days, apparently due to her failure to clear NEET, police said.

She is the second student to commit suicide in Tamil Nadu allegedly over the failure in qualifying NEET this year. Prathiba of Villupuram committed suicide, allegedly after failing in NEET.
