A six-year-old boy fell down 12 floors through a shaft while playing, and died tragically on Wednesday morning at around 9:00 am IST. The incident took place in an under-construction apartment in the Supertech Eco Village 1 where the boy’s parents were working and he was playing in front of them.
According to the sources, after the boy slipped and fell down the shaft, he was trapped in the walls of the 2×2 shaft for a few seconds before falling with a thud on the ground. Such impact of the fall that the boy bounced at least twice after hitting the floor and landing at a few metre’s distances.

After the death of their child, the parents lodged a police complaint on Wednesday evening. While confirming the incident, SHO of Bisrakh police station, Akhilesh Tripathi asserted that a case has been registered under Section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which corresponds to death due to negligence. In response, Supertech developers issued a statement saying that it is the job of the respective contractor to ensure the safety of the workers.
“The contractor is responsible for ensuring the safety of workers. We are initiating action against him,” said the statement. A sub-inspector at the Bisrakh police station said, “The boy’s parents were busy in their work while he was playing around.
The 20-storey tower, E7, is under construction and the labourers there were giving finishing touches to it. There are two shafts on the floor that have been opened for wiring and cable work. The boy accidentally fell into the right shaft. There were no barriers, except some rods and wires. The boy was trapped between the walls for some time and then fell to the ground.”
