Nagraj Manjule’s ‘Jhund’ will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, T-Series head, in which Amitabh Bachchan will play the lead role. Big B will don the role of a retired sports teacher who kicks off a slum soccer movement. Nagraj Jhule said that the film would also touch upon issues of drug abuse and crime and would also showcase how sports could reform kids.

After ‘Bhhoothnath Returns”, its Big B’s stint with Bhushan Kumar for the second time. Post the production works, Bhushan Kumar expressed his happiness in getting another opportunity to work with Amitabh Bachchan. He remembered that when Savita Raj Hirenath got the script to him and when he saw Nagraj’s dedication to the subject, he decided to produce the film. He said that the subject was good and he was excited for the film to go on floors.
Producer Savitraj Hirenath had been thinking of starting her next Bollywood film and was looking for an emotional and relevant subject to connect with the masses and channelize today’s youth into positive energy. That’s when she came to know about the biopic of Vijay Barse who promoted slum soccer in India and showcased India’s talent to the world. Savitraj said that”Jhund is a slum soccer film which shows that there is a hero in all of us and it’s only a matter of life giving you an opportunity”.
She said that she was thankful to Big B and Bhushan Kumar, for helping to deliver a content-driven cinema.
Directed by Nagraj Manjule, the producers of this movie are Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Savita Raj and Raaj Hiremath and Nagraj Manjule himself.
