Two army men injured in an encounter near Line of Control

An encounter took place near Line of Control (LoC) at Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday, injured two army men.

According to the report, a group of militants, believed to be 3 to 5 in number “opened indiscriminate fire upon the army’s party.”

“The group of infiltrators was intercepted near Kacchal Post in Keran Sector adjacent to Chowkibal forests,” said an official. Two soldiers suffered injuries in the incident, according to the police.

They were evacuated to the military hospital in Drugmulla for treatment. “The operation is on in the area,” said the police officials.

In another operation, Army destroyed a militant hideout in Bandipora. “One AK47, two Chinese pistols, five Chinese grenades, binoculars, telescope and two radio sets were found,” said the Army.
