Daria Molcha, a 20-year-old Ukranian Model, who had been arrested for staying in the country without a valid visa, was released from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur jail today. She was arrested by the police on April 3 from a hotel on the city’s Park Road after being found that she didn’t possess valid travel documents.
The bail application which she moved in the District Court was rejected on April 12, after which she filed another application at the High Court. High Court granted her bail a week ago. The release order was issued yesterday.

Jail Superintendent Ramdhani told the PTI that Daria Molcha who had been jailed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) and the Foreigner’s Act, was released around 1 PM. Gorakhpur’s senior superintendent Shalabh Mathur said that Molcha has been sent to the Ukranian embassy in Delhi.
For her release, two men from Kolkata- Chandari Rawat and Adarsh-came on a chartered flight and approached Chief Judicial Magistrate for her release.
Acting on a tip-off to Special Task Force(STF) about some foreign nationals entering India through Nepal, the police arrested Molcha during a raid at the Park Residency hotel.
Molcha is reported to have told STF that she had been visiting India for the last 2 years and that she had visited Delhi in December 2017 when she was blocked by the officials at the airport who told that she was blacklisted and would be deported.
She said that on the advice of her friend “Imshan” she decided to go to Nepal and from where he brought her to India driving through the villages along the border, the STF release revealed.
The seized items from her include a fake driving license, two passports, two mobile phones, a tablet, an iPad and currency of the USA, Ukraine, and India.
