Malayalam film director Ali Akbar lashed out at Coerced religious conversions through his Facebook post. He exemplified his own life to those who abided by the ‘Conversion rules’.
He said that he had been married for 30 years. Since then his wife, who belonged to the Christian religion had not converted or tried to convert him to Christianity. Her family was in a cordial relationship with his family and during the prayers, at his wife’s home, he never hesitated to pray with them. His wife also had prayed along with Ali Akbar’s mother during the Muslim prayer sessions or ‘Niskarams’.He feels proud that his one large family has chachan, ammachi(Kerala Christian salutations for mom and dad), Iththa and Umma(Kerala Muslim salutations for sister and mother) and in such a variety if a Hindu also joins in course of time, he won’t hesitate to build a ‘Pooja Room'(Hindu prayer room) to him.

He said that God is the same for all and different religions call it in different names and that he belongs to that Dharma of accepting all religions.
Like his bereaved father-in-law, mother-in-law one could be a God loving Christian, Like his bereaved mother one could be a devout Muslim who loves ‘Allahu’, Like his teachers who walked the path of virtue one could be a virtuous Hindu, without any quarrels accept each other and go forward, Akbar said.
He deemed that in this pious land each and everyone has his place, the thing is one shall not one’s nose into other’s beliefs. One can be himself and accept others. Ali Akbar said that in the name of religion one should not ooze out the benefits from the government. The whose the biggest one issue between the religions must be avoided, so says Ali Akbar.
He told that he had known two religions and also a culture which preaches nonviolence.”I’ve learned, I’ve debated and ready for any further debates”, said Ali Akbar. Ali Akbar scoffed at those ‘greens’ who hadn’t even read the Holy Quran once and then came and defecated in his Facebook posts. He viewed with contempt terrorists and the evangelists who convert people for money and he vowed that he would oppose them forever. He felt proud about his friend’s circle which included good Christian priests, Muslim Mullahs, Swami Chidanandapuriraja, Matha Amrithanandamayi, above all good atheist friends too, who had never tried to convert him to anybody else and neither he had tried to convert them too.
