Mammooty’s memory of sharing a meal with Anthony Bourdain in Kerala.

Mega Star Mammootty paid his tribute to the celebrity chef and journalist Anthony Bourdain who passed away on Friday. It was during the shooting of the Mollywood flick ‘Pokkiri Raja’ when these two celebrities had met. Mammootty in a lengthy Facebook Post recalled that meeting, even though he was not familiar as his family with Bourdain’s show. Mammootty said that he remembered having a great time shooting with Mr.Bourdain and that he especially loved the homemade Puttu and Meen Curry.

Anthony’s visit to Kerala had been as a part of his show “No Reservations” and Mammootty told that since their meet he tried to watch the episodes of “No Reservations” and Bourdain’s classic show “Parts Unknown”. “His shows brought the world closer together by showcasing various foods and cultures”, Mammootty’s post read.

Mammootty was marveled at the sight, he said when he got a chance to visit the offices of Bourdain’s show in the New York city, of Malayalam paper clippings of Mammootty-Bourdain shoots pinned all over the walls.

Deeply struck by the news of Bourdain’s sad demise, Mammootty said, “The world is not a better place without you Bourdain”.

 

Mammootty’s son and the youth heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan also condoled Anthony Bourdain’s and the American fashion designer Kate Spade’s death through his Twitter Account. The Tweet read,”Shocked to hear about @Bourdain! #KateSpade and now #AnthonyBourdain. My father and I have visited his office in NYC. Lots of warmth from his team. Extremely sad to hear the news. Was a huge fan (sic),”.
