As the monsoons got stronger, 7 deaths including that of a 4-year-old were reported from the state. The dead include Fatima(4), an LKG student from Kushal Nagar, Kasargod; Deepa from Neyyatinkara, Thiruvananthapuram; Khadeeja from Chaliyam, Kozhikode; Vijaya Kumar from Thalavadi, Edathua; Cheniya Naik from Addoor, Kasargod; Ponnamma from Punnakkaattu Balaramapuram; Gangadharan from Padinjareyil, Kannur.

The monsoon created maximum destructions in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur. Control rooms were opened at all Taluks in Kozhikode and also relief camps in 3 places. The sea untwisted its fury when the strong waves lashed out at the land in Chellanam in Kochi and about 10 houses were flooded with water there due to the rain. A landslide was reported in Adimaly-Munnar route. The vehicle movement in Kochi-Danushkodi NH was disrupted.
As the water level is increasing, there are possibilities that the shutters of Maniyar Dam in Pathanamthitta will be opened. Pathanamthitta District Collector informed to those residing near the banks of Pampa and Kakkad rivers to be vigilant. There has been a warning that the wind will be blowing at 60km/hr and so the fishermen shall refrain from going into the sea.
