Mumbai streets were water-logged on Saturday after heavy rain lashed the city with about 96 mm of it received in the last 12 hours alone. The heavy rainfall in several parts of the city caused havoc and disrupted normal life. In the latest of such incident, a 13-year old girl named Drushti Mukesh Mungra died due to tree fall in Dahisar. Reports inform that she was taken to Rohit Nursing home and declared dead by doctors.
Incidents of trees falling at several places and water-logging on some roads were also reported across the city. On Saturday evening, two people were killed in separate rain-related incidents in Thane. A 66-year old fisherman identified as Steni Admani was struck by lightning and on the spot.

Shivaji Patil, chief of the District Disaster Control Cell informed that the incident took place when he was examining his fishing net at around 6 am today. Reports inform that the incident took place at Patanbunder area of Uttan in Bhayander in the district.
Patil informed that along with him, six other people who were out in the open at the time were also injured due to the lightning and have been admitted to a local hospital. In another similar incident, a woman who was riding pillion on a two-wheeler died after the vehicle rammed into a truck on GB Road and an official said that heavy rains probably caused the accident.
According to a report by PTI, the woman has not been identified yet and the man riding the two-wheeler was severely injured and has been admitted to the city civil hospital.
