On Wednesday morning, the Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo tweeted, “Good morning, Delhiites. Our struggle to overcome the hurdles blocking Delhi’s development is on. Our confidence is our strength.” The four leaders have been camping inside the LG office’s waiting room since Monday evening and have spent two nights there sleeping on the couches.
Deputy chief minister Sisodia also tweeted that even as they had entered the third day of their strike, Lt Governor Biajl was yet to ask the IAS officers to end their ‘strike’. Aam Aadmi Party workers were also anticipated to march towards the LG’s residence in the national capital at 4 pm, later today. Ties between the AAP government and the IAS officers have been strained ever since the alleged assault of Chief Secreatry Anshu Prakash by a few AAP workers at Kejriwal’s residence on the intervening night of February 19-20.
Following this, the AAP government claims that the IAS officers had gone on a “partial strike” and were not attending meetings with ministers or taking their calls. The AAP government is demanding the LG to intervene in the matter and to ask the IAS officers to end their “illegal strike” as well as order action against those who have stalled work for the last “four months”. They also want LG Baijal to approve their proposal for doorstep delivery of rations. Meanwhile, the LG’s office has slammed the AAP leaders for their protest, calling the sit-in as yet another “dharma without reason”.
