Man gets 5 year jail term for sexually assaulting daughter
Mumbai city court on Tuesday sentenced a 37-year-old man to jail for five years after convicting him for sexually assaulting his daughter two years ago.
The Special Protection of Children Against Sexual Offence Act court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,500 on the man.

Judge AH Laddhad said the penalty amount would be given to the 13-year-old survivor.
Special public prosecutor Geeta Nayyar said, “After the convict assaulted the child, she had informed about it to her paternal aunt, who in turn had informed her mother about the incident.”
When the mother questioned her husband, the man denied the act and instead, abused her. “Two days later, the mother gathered courage and filed a complaint against her husband,” said the prosecutor.
The Wadala TT police had registered a case against the man and took him in their custody following the mother’s complaint.
Meanwhile, it has also come in the statement of the medical officer, who had examined the child, that prior to the reported incident, the accused had sexually assaulted a year before too.
