A woman Congress legislator Vijayadharani was evicted from the Tamil Nadu Assembly after she engaged in a verbal spat with Speaker P Dhanapal, who reportedly condemned her behaviour and warned her against a strict action if she continued to act in a similar manner.
According to an agency reports, post her eviction, when Congress legislature party leader KR Ramasamy raised the issue, the Speaker told him not to deviate the matter, causing the Congress MLAs to walk out.

Dhanapal however allegedly refused to let her bring up the matter and then went on to claim that she had a ‘personal deal’ with the Minister. According to an ANI report, Vijayadharani said, “Wanted compensation for deaths due to a short circuit in my district. Concerned Minister was ready to reply, but Speaker Dhanapal did not let me speak and made a degrading remark, saying I had ‘personal deal’ with the Minister. He should be removed.”
Dhanapal accused that the Minister spoke in an intimidating manner as quoted in the report said, “You saw her behaviour, it is condemnable. I had no other choice. So far, I have not ordered the eviction of any woman member of the House.”
